Just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself to the community.

I first started playing trumpet it 5th grade, but did not get serious with the instrument until about 8th grade. My early performances in school band really motivated me and inspired me to make the decision to stay in music as a career, in at least some capacity for the rest of my life. In high school, my continued experiences in all facets of my band program further inspired me to pursue becoming a music educator. I graduated from college with a degree in music education and a teaching credential, as well as a multitude of great experiences in all ensembles - Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra (even subbed a few times with a local professional symphony orchestra), Chamber Brass, etc. I also spent a summer playing and marching trumpet in the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps in the summer of 2005. I'm now teaching full time with a band program of my own, and thinking back, I really can attribute my successes in life so far and accomplishments to the direction that music (and trumpet) took my life in.
