Welcome again Ray.
And another vote for Ray is the greatest. Not only is he a great player, but one of the warmest, most generous hearted cats you'll ever meet.
And like me, is from the Bronx. Well, originally anyway.

Re: Hello from The Bronx

Ray, Welcome. It's an honor. I love your playing. I caught you in a little club in the village about a year and 1/2 ago during a Trumpet Fest week. A very musical evening indeed. Later, Joe Morrissey

Ray,

Welcome to Trumpet Master! How neat you've been able to share the joy of making music and teaching aspiring trumpeters too.

I look forward to learning from you.

Tootsall,
Thanks for that Ray Vega link. I wish it wouldn't have ended just when he was demonstrating his vibrato use..............crow

Re: Hello from The Bronx

Hi Ray,
Welcome aboard. I just watched the interview with Warren Vache. It's interesting that you mention Herb Alpert as an early influence. Someone had a thread awhile ago about our early influences and many people mentioned Herb Alpert. I remember seeing him on TV in the '60's right around the time that it was possible to start learning an instrument in school. Because of him I chose the trumpet. I've had many favorites along the way since then. Well, I look foward to reading more about you and your experiences here on TM.
