I'm new here to and look forward to your responses and comments to the posts. I joined 'cause I saw Ingrid Jensen's forum here. Having you here makes it even better. This site is great. I got yor cd "Squeeze, Squeeze", Fabulous playing! Keep up the excellent work, y..."sigue pa'lante!" (spanglish: Keep on going foreging ahead). Sincerely, James Perales

Re: Hello from The Bronx

Hi James,
Thank you for your kind words. Funny thing, I was online and found this site through a link at Tony Kadleck's site. I've known Tony for over 20 years......he came one night to sub on Louie Ramirez' band at the Corso in New York. Lead trumpeter Tony Barrero and I were blown away by his playing...he sight read flawlessly....and soloed his butt off. I've been a fan since.
Anyway, when I got to this site, I saw Wilmer and Ingrid.....old friends as well. Manny Laureano has been an inspiration for me for years. Our parents are from Puerto Rico, we're from the inner city...and we both went to Music and Art HS and studied with Sidney Baker. I have many recordings of Ed Carroll (NY trumpet ensemble,etc.).
I liked what I saw and I pitched my tent.
I'll throw in a couple of comments when I think that I have some to add....

hasta la proxima mi hermano!
PEACE
