![]() ![]() | Re: Hello from Sydney As far as beer traveling around the world I am pretty sure that foreign beers are brewed by contract breweries in the U.S. Large breweries will make it to the specifications and brewmaster requirements then ship it in bulk to a canning and bottling plant. That way the brewery in the U.S. is not associated with a beer it doesn't own. I used to own stock in a contract brewery but it went broke. They were brewing beer for the one of the U.S. military services called, "XXXXXXX" and also "XXXXXXX" for a gay marketer. Once word got out the contracts were canceled and the brewery closed its doors. They also brewed a Mexican beer that was bottled in a black bottle. I can't remember the name. I will circulate the Cane Toad photograph. We have folks in Southern Missouri that spear big frogs and eat them. But not toads. Yes, 2010 is the ITG in Sydney. I will remind all new Australians that become members. I expect to attend. I am also considering a tour of Tasmania or flying east to New Zealand and touring there.

![]() | Re: Hello from Sydney Yes and QLD will kick the S* out of you blokes supporting the blues Good god TotalEclipse that second photo is just as frightening as the first. I could tell a story about toads like that.. the largest cane toads I have ever seen were in a small town 1.5 hours outside of brisbane. My boyfriend (at that time) and I decided to go for a night time picnic. We spend the day driving around mount glorious.. The night was warm and we found a little park outside of Esk, to lay down our blanket and enjoy a nice glass of wine and eat our food (and yes I must confess ... have a little snog after we finished).. No sooner had we sat down .. these bloody great cane toads appeared ... They had circled us and were closing in... It was like something out of an Alford Hitchcock movie... We tried to discourage them to no avail ... We ended up seeking refuge on some near by BBQ tables ( I mean we were sitting on the tables.. not the chairs).. They still kept coming and we ended up having to leave .. food not even touched .. wine unopened ... It was a horrible ending to a lovely day.. |

![]() | Re: Hello from Sydney total eclipse did you see the link I posted on the last page?? having some experience with cane toads you will appreciate it.. YouTube - Baz the Queensland Cane Toad. stchasking they are indeed very poisonous. Dogs are very curious animals and often catch and take toads in their mouth. Vets make a lot of money out of this, because a cane toad can kill a dog. they have poison sacks on their back which release the poison it the toad is threatened.. Interesting enough the cane toad is one of the only animals that can eat bees.. Bee keepers need to keep their hives off the ground for a variety of reasons, but in Queensland a cane toad will knock on the hive in the middle of the night and wait for the bees to come and and pick them off one by one .. more on cane toads here Cane Toads Oh I forgot to add that young kids often lick the backs of cane toads because the poison is also a hallucinogen... Even dogs have got in on the action The NT Drug News Vault: Toads turning dogs into junkies Last edited by Catfish; 05-16-2008 at 08:55 AM. Reason: to add |
