![]() | Hi Hi everyone Forum looks great. It has been a while since I played a trumpet, and right now I am teaching myself the sax. Got a Flug. and found it is going to take a bit more to relearn that than the sax. But it is so nice to look at. If I can't play it I am going to put it on the wall and just look at it! I am looking for a trumpet right now, and I am caught between a Blessing ML1-g and the Kanstul ZKT 1500..any thoughts? ; my Flug is a Kanstul. Totally love the dark buttery sound in the low end; the horn you want to play all Jobim's works with. Be well and stay tuned! Ela ...practice time! |

![]() | Re: Hi Hi, Eka, If you like your Kanstul flugel, you may want to stick with a Kanstul trumpet. I'm not saying Blessing is a poor choice (I own a Blessing cornet which I like), but the Kanstul may be better all around. Best wishes! Lloyd |

I'm a sax player and a trumpet player so, let me make a recommendation. get a good sax teacher. saxophones are one of the easiest wind instruments to play from a physical standpoint. They are also the easiest to play.....BADLY! being self taught is not such a good thing, IMHO. re: Kanstul. as players have stated above, they're very good horns. My good friend has the 1500 that you're looking at (with the copper bell and all.) he absolutely worships it and says it is the best horn ever. i will say that he is almost strictly a jazz player (combo) and loves a dark chocolatey sound. so, you need to think about what style you want to focus on because the ZKT-1500 probably wouldn't be too great for classical (at least not 1st. or 2nd. chair). peace,
