are there any good metronome brands around that you recommend i can get? the one that i have is lousy! the beat goes off by itself.

You can also use on-line metronome if you have a PC w/speakers in your practice room.

Here's one: METRONOME ONLINE - free!

I always preferred the old wind-up ones - plus in this day of saving energy.....
