![]() | Re: Looking for info on King Symphony Trumpets Hello Gary. Enter words, "Brass Resources" on Internet. Click there and scroll down till you see the "H.N. White King Trumpet" site, click on there. There is a lot of info. on that site. Is your Horn made by the later King Company? Or does the engraving say made by H.N. White company on valve casing and Bell? Yours may have a S2 stamped on it. Does your Horn have a Sterling Silver Bell? I would not pass up one with the Sterling Silver Bell. I do have a 1948 King Super-20 S1 model with the box springs and a heavy single valve guide inside the upper valve casing. Like my 1948 King Master Cornet. Most others I have seen have the outer springs with a single rounded outer valve guide. The S1 models in brass with nickel silver inner slides are often passed over for the Dual bore S2 Brass models and the Symphony models with the Sterling Bells. The S1's are very nice players with a just right med. bore. Easy Trumpet to play soft or loud or make it scream. My brass guides are fine. But would hope to find a replacement set in Nylon also. Plan to rebuild completely and Silver plate at a later date. Hope the Silver plating will enhance the sound of Horn. Will do a lot of asking before doing it. If your Horn is in great playing shape. Take care of it. They to me are great sounding and easy playing. The H.N.White Company took pride in the workmanship of their Pro line of Horns. As mine is 60 years old and still a player. Check out the serial# of your Horn on that site. They are pretty accurate. Take care and enjoy your fine Horn. From a Baby Boomer who likes Vintage Trumpets and Cornets and the new Pro Horns also. |

![]() | Re: Looking for info on King Symphony Trumpets I am sure it is the later King company. It is a mid-seventies era and the logo has the crown over the King name. The horn is still in very good shape. I am trying to get an understanding of its value. I have had a couple of pro trumpet players ask if I wanted to sell it. I don't want to but it made me curious about just what I had. I also have an older Coueson trumpet. I think it is from the 50s. It plays well but is not in very good shape cosmetically. |

![]() | Re: Looking for info on King Symphony Trumpets The serial # says it is a mid-70s model. The only identification is the name "Symphony" on the bell. There are letters DB under the serial # on the 2nd valve. The horn is mostly brass with some silver accents. I will look closer for any other markings. Thanks |

![]() | Re: Looking for info on King Symphony Trumpets Hi Gary, Nice to hear that you have a King Symphony. I live in the Netherlands and a I bought a King Symphony a few months ago with serial number 537018 DB so I think it is the same period (1975). My trumpet plays well but the outside is not in a real good shape; a few little dents and completely mat. I am also interested in more information about this trumpet. Like; is it worth to lacquer it again. |
