![]() | Re: Total Newbie! Tounge position inside your mouth can also help speed up your air if that's what you're looking to do. If you move the back of your tounge up towards the roof of your mouth and use the same amount of air, it has no choice but to move more quickly. That makes it much easier to slur and things like that. Though it takes some getting used to... |

![]() | Re: Total Newbie! OK, So I practiced for about an hour again this evening. What I am working on is playing Cs and Gs without pressing down the valves. My intonation is pretty terrible, the notes kind of bounce all over the place. I am not too worried as I am sure this will come with time. However, I was wondering about something. Whenever I press a valve down I get a "warbling" sound. Especially with the second or third valve (I am guessing this puts you into the higher registers??) but even with the first key. Do you need to change your breathing - breathe harder- when you press down the valves?
