Hi Gregory,

Screaming Morris already gave me a ton of info on my "find". I found a 1915 Conn New Wonder at a garage sale for the incredibly low price of just $5.00.
After cleaning and loosening and getting the mp removed it plays great. I mean really great.

Well folks it seems I made a mistake on my GETZEN,It is a 1949,but it is a Rosetone,The entire horn is red brass except for the lead pipe and valve casings which are silver plated,The bell is engraved in roses and says GETZEN and underneath it says rosetone in cursive

Hey guys,
Welcome, gregory!

There is a thread completely devoted to pawn shop and other places great deals... Some of my great deal tales are on there.

Those two horns you have sound cool! Good luck, hope you find some more!(Just leave the vintage Strad C trumpet for me, ok?)

Best of luck

Mr.Getzen,Ireally appreciate the info you gave me on my Getzen,I now know you are correct. The earliest it can be is a 49,I wish I could send you a photo of this amazing horn,The entire horn is red brass exept for the valve casings which are plated in silver? As well as the lead pipe which will soon need repair as it is getting cancer from the inside out,any info would be appreciated,Thank you.

Re: Trumpet talk and new friends.

Well hello!Thank you responding,It is always nice to hear from a fellow enthusiast.I just put away one of my horns for the night as it is eleven PM here in Chattanooga .What types of horns do you have as I am always on the look out for horns even if they need work.I just found another horn at a restauraunt here that is being used as a window display and I spoke with the lady who runs it and gave her my number and said I want it as she said they are going to refirbish the window display and said I could probably just take it!So I am going Monday and going to try and talk her out of it even if I have to give her a few bucks,Hopefully very few bucks! That is of course if she holds true and lets me just have it!Well I hope to hear from you soon Gregory1969
