If one gets tired from holding his horn, he probably gets tired from blowing it also. There is no easy way out of this. It takes training of the whole body and good health to keep up with this profession of trumpet playing. I don't mind the little extra weight I have in the Taylor as compared to the Schilke that I have for the Taylor gives me the sound and playability that I want and enjoy the most. During the first week or so, I noticed the difference in weight but after that it is not an issue. Liad Bar-EL | |

| I started on my grandfather's Buescher 400 from the late 40s, and it's the only horn I've ever played. I never thought of it as all that heavy, but I notice that other horns are a lot lighter! It's true that they project more in front than in back. I couldn't hear myself at all when playing outdoors. TOm |

| Re: Why are people frightened of heavy horns? Rowuk .....do know what the weight of your Anja is? I have had my Taylor Lite for a little while now and found the weight (3lbs)to be a nice balance both in blow and heft. For fun I had the chance to try a Chicago Standard the other day and although it is only 8 ounces heavier than my horn I would have been a bit concerned that the extra weight might get to me on longer sessions...having said that I don't even think about the weight of my horn now.... however..... I have found I need to be considerate when it comes to volume....! Walter |
