Thank you, I forgot!
  1. First position, slide all the way in.
  2. Third position, fingers touching rim of bell.
  3. Second positition, slide in-between first and thrid.
  4. Fourth-Seventh position, between third position and end of the slide.
This method helps a great deal in sightreading, because accidentals are "felt" rather than "read" by trombonists.
