Lots of good suggestions. A really good gold polish is Turtle Car Wax.

mike ansberry is on a distinguished road
When I put my Eclipse through the chemical bath last summer it came out with some badly discolored sections. I searched for a while to find a solution that worked and wouldn't hurt the finish. I found a well respected plater who posts on TPIN who told me Tarnex would get the discolorations off, but to be very careful and be sure to wash it thoroughly when done. It worked like a charm. My Eclipse came back to its full beauty. (Then I scratched the %&*%&$^%# out of the bell with mutes playing Cabaret.)
