    Congrats on the horn, Tom. Not having owned a yellow brass-belled 184, I can't really tell you what the difference is between the two bells. I bought one with a gold brass bell because of the widely-accepted traits you mentioned. It seems to have a very nice, full, warm tone, but who knows if that's a product of the bell material or just the cornet design in general.
