Blue note used to do this. You could log on and watch the show for free! Woopie. I have no idea how hard this would be... I bet it would be a pain in the rear, but it would be super cool.
The artist could perform and then log on and hold a post performance discussion.
That would rock
Peace
Matt

I see on the Jazz Forum a thread advertising porn. Can this sort of thing be stopped? It's Saturday, 12/2/06, 2:35 Mountain Time FWIW.

Richard, (and mods and others); I've noticed that so far, MOST of the porn ends up in the jazz forum. Now, I don't know if that's a commentary on jazz players in general or not (there was a spam in Manny's forum too... closet jazz player?).

The frequency has shot up dramatically in the last few days also. I wonder if a "waiting period" to gain membership might slow them down a bit? Or are they getting past the membership system entirely?

Still, I think that if a larger part of the membership base had rights to blow spammers out of the water we'd be much better off.

(I'm getting more spam in my email as well...luckily my ISP has a spam blocker and I don't even see 90% of it).

I think it is ending up in the jazz forum because of the thread titled "My p*rn music debute."

Seriously............These spammers have programs that search for "certain" buzz words..........I think "that" word is attracting the spammers.

Maybe try changing the title of that thread.........

I agree with that. Find a new title for that thread.

There are graphical security codes you can implement into your registration process that will help get rid of the 'bots' who sign up automatically and then post spam.

Examples of the graphical system can be seen when you get a file from rapidshare, or many other sites that involve logging in.

I think it was not done by mistake due to a title name but it was intentional because the greetings forum got a porn thread as well.

Just as XXX movies are played in the open theaters, on news stands and even on T.V. so is Anti-Semitism treated the same but even more so now that the new Anti-Semitic Borat movie came on the scene. Baron Cohen interviewed in Rolling Stone stated, "By himself being anti-Semitic, he lets people lower their guard and expose their own anti-Semitism or an acceptance of anti-Semitism."

You TM moderators and others here are concerned about XXX threads but do not seem concerned about having anti-Semitic avatars on TM. There was one used on TM for a long time before he changed it and who is to say that he will not use it again?

You are trying to point to an unknown violation about a porn thread where there is already a known one in front of your eyes and not one word has been said about it.

Gentlemen, If you see any post that you believe to be unacceptable, TM now has a "report post" function, located at the bottom left corner of each post next to the graphic which indicates whether the user is online or not. I have used this function acouple of times to alert the Admin and mods to posts which I believed to be in violation of the UA. You can do the same, and I think the Admin would probably encourage this as it would be unreasonable to expect him to see everything that gets posted here each day.

I don't know about any anti-semitic avatars, but the porn spam problem is much more concerning right now. And we all know how sensitive your anti-semite radar is Liad, so it's probably not all that serious.
