You'll like the User CP link too. I use that on the Pearl Drummer's Forum to check "my" threads - i.e. the threads that I'm subscribed to.

This software is definitely a move in a better direction. Just imagine - click the link in your email and it will actually take you to the first new post since your last viewing.

I'm curious - does this software package have "Reputation" capability? On the Pearl Drummer's forum, if someone posts something that you thought was helpful, you can give them positive "rep" so that you can tell them you liked their post, and then it will link them back to the good post. Likewise, you can also give people negative rep - you can see the trouble makers a mile off because their rep meter (if they leave it turned on - most of the trolls don't realize it's an option) will have a big red bar underneath their names. People with lots of good rep (like me - I have over 21000 rep points ) will be lit up all green.

I wish you luck -- I love it here. You have nice people and I find that the vast majority of the people who post here treat each other with respect! That makes for a nice neighborhood!
I, too, can't live without the "posts since last visit" link. However, you'll notice on this software that at the top of every page is a "new posts" link which does just what the old one did.

Also, under the "quick links" menu at the top is a link to today's posts, which is quite useful.

Smile

Thanks!!!! On the other board (www.mybeachboard.com) they use a version of this software that does not have the "new posts" button. That will be a favorite feature on this board and a suggestion to the owner of the other board!

Just a question...how does the buddy list function? What does it do?

Also...a secondary thought...will our old avatars be restored?

Just to tack onto Glenn's question..

I tried to upload an avatar using the new sizes 80X80 or 19.5 KB which ever is smaller and I keep getting "Load Failed"

Is there something I'm missing or is this a work in progress? I noticed yesterday that I couldn't even specify an avatar.

Good job on the software I like it!
