| Forte User | And: You need to go to User CP - Edit Options, and then at the very bottom where it asks what kind of text editor you want to use, choose the full text editing opinion for WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editing. Last edited by trickg : 08-10-2006 at 09:47 PM. |

| Forte User | Oh no! What happened to the cool emoticons? Ok - on the upper left of the main toolbars is a link called "User CP". Click that. Then, on the menu options on the side, click the link that says "Edit Options" From there, scroll all the way down the page until you get to a section titled: "Miscellaneous Options" and " "Message Editor Interface" You have three choices: Basic Editor - A simple text box Standard Editor - Extra Formatting Controls Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing It seems that there have been some changes since I was last on to the emoticon functionality since I was last on, but I chose the third option - Full WYSIWYG Editing, and it gave me clickable emoticons in a box to the right of the text editor window. Since I've worked as a software designer myself, I usually pick up on this stuff pretty quickly, and in my opinion, VBulletin is a solid, fairly intuitive software package with lots of cool controls and features. I think that for most, once the newness has worn off and people get used to the new functionality, they are going to really like it. |

| Forte User | Pat- I felt a bit out of my element at first, too. My avatar is still mising...it feels different to be sure. But the wysiwig option Pat mentions above IS very nice and seems a bit more flexible. I think once the homepage is back up it'll feel more like "home" again... Next questions...what's the little colored rectangle mean underneath my posts count? And, what does adding to a reputation or detracting from a reputation do? Also, at one point this evening I was a senior member, an advertising member supporter or something of the sort, but those are now gone...what happened to them and what do they mean? ![]() | You have been using PHPBB for years now PH. If you venture away from trumpet boards you will find that this software is being run by some of the most popular forums on the web. We just ditched the Ford Escort and moved to a Ferrari. There is still a bunch of work to be done under the hood. But she is going to pur like a kitten once we break her in. |

| New Program Hmm . . . right now this Ferrari is running quite a bit slower than the old Escort. I can't seem to make it remember my log-in. I did a quick reply and it apparently went into the ether. Also, I am 61 years old. You have me listed as a Junior member. Absurd. Just how old are you people anyway? Tim Ellestad |
