![]() | Search syntax? How can I search for "blue juice"? 'blue AND juice', ' "blue juice" ', ' (blue juice) ' all end up offering Vulgano's "little blue pills." (Thanks all the same, but my mailbox is filled every day with Amazing Offers already.) Every combination seems to be treated as though there were an 'OR' added. ?? TIA Jude |

| New Friend | Re: Search syntax? Jude, vBullein uses a full text boolean search. Each unique word will have it's own list of posts, so the phrase "blue juice" (without the quotes) will return all posts with either or both words in it, though posts with both words will be rated higher. If you want the exact phrase, you'll need the quotes around "blue juice" to distinguish between matching posts like "blue juice is the best valve oil ever" and "the blue monkey likes his juice". Here is a list of search operators: vBulletin FAQ Forums - View Single Post - vB search or MySQL Fulltext search? Hope this helps, even if the reply is almost two months late.

![]() | Re: Search syntax? I've tried using quotes and the + sign to search for "Stomvi flugelhorn." Just to see if the test worked, I went to a search result with only 9 posts. I didn't see my phrase in that forum. I then did a "Find" for Stomvi, just in case I missed it. I didn't. "Stomvi" was not in the search result. So what's going on? There has to be a way to make this work. |
