When you compose a new message or reply to a thread you should see a box on the right hand side with Smilie options

If you don't see smilies here is what you do

Userp CP -> Edit Options -> Miscellaneous Options -> Message Editor Interface ->

Make sure you set it to "Enhanced" and not "Basic" Editor.

Seeing the number in your post, have you changed the settings regarding how many we can use as well?

I see the smilies at the bottom and when I click one, they do not appear in the text where I want them. Suggestions on how to put them where you want them?

Move your cursor to where you want them. Select the smilie

I moved my cursor right after this sentence, clicked the smilie at the bottom of my page and it ended up near the title box.

Someone posted that the smilies are at the right side of the page. I do not see smilies at the right side of my page. I do see a link to someone's thread of smilies.

All I see to choose from is post icons (smilies) at the bottom of the page.

I do not understand these instructions nor where you put them:
