| Re: Yikes! Where did Manny go? Zoiks I really meant well by this post..I am sorry I posted it under the wrong forum:(. Manny is by far my favorite orchestral musician and I find myself always striving to play with the finesse, sound and expertise that he does. I really miss seeing his posts...I have had vids of him on my computer desktop for years now. One of these days I will meet him and perhaps God willing take a lesson, then perhaps find a local microbrewery with REAL ale, good food, and pick his brain and hear plenty of stories. Any of you other cats ever take lessons from a Vacchiano student? The stories abound and amaze...in college I was lucky enough to takel lessons from Al Ligotti and those are perhaps some of the most treasured memories I have!!! Oops...maybe I should have did this in another forum! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Yikes! Where did Manny go? Manny was the universal FRIEND. A real straight shooter. I think everything he does is intense and unfortunately we had some intense trolling back then that probably spoiled the experience for him. At the time Manny left, there was a very nasty personal attack on another TMer, it was not the first time, but did lead to various members leaving the forum. This is a danger in an open internet forum, even with great moderation like we have here. We all miss him dearly, but have qualified options with the other artists here. Andrew has jumped in with both feet and is on fire! |

![]() | Re: Yikes! Where did Manny go? I found some of the old posters under a Trumpet Pedagogy site. It looked like it turned into a chat room with little pedagogy. The people who left were a pretty tight group. |

| Forte User | Re: Yikes! Where did Manny go? It's possible that Manny left for the same reason I did - I just got tired of the same old stuff all of the time, and I was especially tired of the Peabody's - "Peons" who think they are "Somebody"! For that I matter I guess I fit the Peabody mold too, so I'm sure the place is just fine without me, but it's too bad that Manny left because unlike me, he actually had some quality information about playing the trumpet to provide. |
