Just wanted to update the thread. Tim80 just brought his newest Ebay purchase by for a test run. It is a very nice almost mint 1961 Olds Recording. We both took turns playing it and my TL6r-1a. It was very interesting how well the rose brass bells matched in tone. The Olds was slightly brighter and bigger tone. While the Lawler has a larger spectrum of sound. I thought it was interesting to match the Lawler up with a classic Olds. I think the TL6R actually matched up with another of Tim's Ebay purchases, a 1954 Martin Committee small bore. I think the warm tone was very similar to that horn but the Lawler was easier to light up.
