The cow wasn't mad....but she was severely upset!
Personally I try to hold red meat consumption down to no more than 2 lb a week (more or less). That works out to about 4 hamburgers a week, one meal with ground beef in it (spaghetti, shepherd's pie, whatever), and maybe my share of one roast (what the kids don't eat!). I happen to love fish, chicken & pork but will admit to getting the occasional craving for a nice steak. And (horrors) I live smack dab in the middle of one of the largest feedlot areas of Alberta. The "mad cow" scare did not put me off...in fact I took the opportunity to fill the freezer with lower cost beef.
I just find that eating too much beef is...well, too much. It has nothing to do with playing trumpet; just a personal dietary choice. "Listen to your body, it'll tell you what it wants". |
