Just wanted everyone to know about a great BBC site. BBC Radio Two posts sound clips of "REAL" British Brass Bands every week. You can hear the best AND the rest there. Just point your browser to:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/index.shtml?logo and then click on "Listen Again" over on the right hand side. Once there, select "Listen To The Band" and awayyy you go.
Lots of other good music there as well. Don'cha just love the net? Distance disappears!
Oh yeah...did I fail to mention that Roger Webster is a featured soloist in this week's list? Or that Grimethorpe Colliery Band is represented? And the Black Dyke? and the Coldstream Guards? You can hear it in the privacy of your own home if you are embarrased to admit that you listen to "Brass Bands"! No one need every know. But be careful... cornet sounds can lead to cornet playing which can be addictive.
