Hi,

I tend to like to play more musical things on picc. than scales and arpegios.

Any easy trumpet etude in the back of Arbans , takes on a whole new meaning when you try it on picc.

The 2 books I recommend having are David Hickman's Book " The piccolo trumpet book " published by tromba and the " Piccolo Trumpet Big Book "

It's hard to try to take the physicallity out of the instrument , but playing music seems to help.

check out:

It talks alot about picc's and the inherent problems.

The best thing I can recommend, what ever your playing, is to try to concentate on what comming out the bell and now what's going on behind it.

Visualize, you sitting in the audience , listening to yourself play like a member of the audience, enjoying the music.

Try it, it really helps you to play the music and not just the notes.
