Hi,

When you see orchestra audition lists that read "a solo work of your choice" do you automatically think Haydn or Hummel or do you think something maybe a bit more impressive like a Honegger Intrada or a Jolivet.

I noticed a recent audition ad asks for the Haydn or the Arutunian :?

I don't get that. In general do you think audition committes would rather hear something flashy vs the Haydn or Hummel if given the choice.
