I myself can attest to the fact that my "good" practice days are when the air is "moving", and my "bad" practice days are when I am trying to achieve results with insufficient air.
I have read other players posts (on other forums), making the case that "soft practice" kills their endurance and leaves their chops in a mess. Having said that, are there any benefits to soft practice?
