You could be wasting your air, not regulating your air flow at the aperture. Like a flute player with an opening that's too big and the air rushes out with no resistance. Imagine a more compact, centered sound for a while. Constant flow, but the notes float out the bell. No force, constant energy. Thread the needle with your air stream, just a more compact air stream.
