The differences in the 8310Z are physically subtle, but sonically huge. They even feel WAY different...and better in my opinion.
The most notable difference is that the bell and the bead of the bell are completely different. He has been changing the bell on C trumpets and now the Bbs. The braces are different (though the brace placement and the number of braces is the same), the caps and buttons are different, and quite a few other things.
The trumpet is much more resonant than it's predecessor and has quite a life and ring to its sound. Its response is also quicker than the older model.
I think this trumpet is much more versatile than its predecessor and am confident that many players will really like it. One pretty famous classical soloist is using it right now as his Bb.
I had an opportunity yesterday to try six of the prototypes yesterday in a very quiet, private, location.
These horns will be well enjoyed.
