| I saw Payton live a while back. He played the theme from the flinstones! Played it absolutely amazing, too. I'm listening to some Woody Shaw stuff right now, some of those modes he goes into are just off my radar. I can't believe the jumps he makes during his solos. Freakin' amazing! My trumpet teacher played with him on a recording, he said he begged not to take any but the first solo. |
