| Ok ... he's a question for you Calicchio guys ... "Larry".
I've been reading this stuff about bell resonance etc ... and could probably easier relate if it could be described in "subjective" player oriented terms.
For example ... I've played Bach 37, 43, and 72 bells of varying thickness, alloy make up and finish. I know the "percieved effect" of the variables of these bells.
While I've played others, the only Calicchio bell I really know is the b flat "1S" bell. (O.T. ... didn't Calicchio make "C" trumpets years back?)
Question(s): Does Calicchio make a heaveier bell, same flare, lighter bell, same flare (as in '1S' models just different thicknesses & alloys?)
And how does each of these change the "Players Perception" of how he sounds? What does the different finishes do to the sound / feel of each, from the players perspective?
I've played 1s-2's in silver & gold plating .... that's it. Well played a ml bore 3 bell, 9 leadpipe once or twice ... but not enough to be able to speek about it.
Thanks ... MPM 8)
