That would be awesome. People would freak.
It may even sound very good as well, be really lightweight and dent resistant.
Yes, I would like to have a rep in Colorado, I get a lot of calls from there.
Let me know if you know anyone. |
For awhile, carbon fiber was used on trombone slides. A guy in Vegas did them (he has passed away and no one has picked up the ball). People who had them made say they were lightweight, of course dent proof, and the sound was no different. Seems like it would catch on.
Oh well, the one that scares me is the crystal glass bell. Don't leave that one on your trumpet stand
BTW, I am from Colorado. I visit there every so often and may be able to help.
Back to the topic. I had my horn sent out for plating. I sold my backup horn in a planned sale. Suddenly, I found myself without a pro level horn (since Alex has most of his sold out). I had to play a beginner's horn. My oh my, did my band mates rib me. Plus is was just a difficult chore to keep that horn in tune. If you ever need to be thankful for your horn, play an inexpensive beginner's horn for awhile.
I took it from every angle -- being a dealer. Was I ever glad to get my horn back. Waiting is awful -- and you bandmates do not make it any easier. Normally, when frustrated I like to practice. But when you don't have a good horn, practicing is a chore too.
