| On the drywall thing... I hear ya loud and clear. Besides, drywallers (and plasterers) don't charge a terrible lot for what they do... and frequently you can't GET someone to tape the joints and plaster UNLESS the board has been put up professionally (to minimize the Plasterer's work). I've done the job myself (and a filthy, dusty job it is) and I've hired. I'll continue to hire when I run into that kind of work.
Wiring, of course, is no big deal. Depending upon your local regulations, as long as it meets the "code" and can pass an inspector's test you'll be OK. Just be sure to put in lots of receptacles and don't use that crappy aluminum wire (if they still sell it in your locale). Don't want Momma's hair to stand on end when she plugs in the iron! That seems to upset her more than not having the job done at all. ;) |
