Hey all,
I am the "friend" that Screamintrumpet keeps talking about. I do have a silver finish ZO. It is by far the best horn I ever had! And yes, I cannot wait until the flugel arrives, which I was told, should ship this friday.. Right Rev.?
Anyways, I also loved the copperbell model but I opted for the silver due to the nesscessity for "more" overtones due to the work I perform. I mainly play lead in jazz... or try to, I still suck.
But my impressions of the ZO as compared to any other horn (except monette, never played one) are thus: It is THE best horn REGARDLESS of price. The tone can be made dark or bright. The tuning is a lot better in ALL registers (even though that could also be the ears fault). For some reason, I do not have as many tuning issues when playing with mutes either. The highs speak clearly and the lows are strong. It seems as if the horn will play itself.
Plus, you get WONDERFUL help from Michael and the gang. Let me know if y'all have any other questions.
