Gidday Gidday!
Thanks for all the extra info on "Orange Juice" !!
You wouldnt believe it...I miss one band rehearsal...and I miss everything. I turned up to a playout for our band last weekend...and what did our Director pull from our folder....Orange Juice...as he called it! Thats how he introduced it! I didnt even know we had it! So...I now have a copy of the flugel solo part. It was actually called "Rodrigo" on the sheet music...so thats why I hadnt recognised it. (Our band has literally a large room full of 150 years of collecting band music).
I first heard this piece when I began playing again. (Im a comeback player). I thought, Id love to play it one day when Im good enough. Well, I have a Taylor zeus cornet coming....and this is the first thing Im going to play on it!! I cant wait! Im all practiced up!
Thanks again for the "other recordings" of it. Give me something to look for, and being a guitar player too, it would be nice to hear it played on guitar....but you cant beat a good flugel horn player I reckon!
And to Noel...thanks for the info. Say Gidday to Leigh for me. The Taylor cornet hasnt arrived yet...but it should in the next few days!! (The first one to hit Australia!) Leigh will know who I am!
Are you at eclipse going to have any more competitions?? I missed this one...but have some great ideas! (Nothing to do with kangaroos or koalas!!) Great idea guys!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks again
Jo
