Re: Favorite Front LIne I dig the records with the Turrentine Bros. I would second Blue Mitchell/Junior Cook and Freddie Hubbard/Tina Brooks as well. I love the work that Bryan Lynch and Conrad Herwig have done together.

Re: Favorite Front LIne Everybody put some great groups. My favorite will always be Miles Davis/Wayne Shorter in the 60's. I love everyone else's choices too.

Re: Favorite Front LIne Booker Little - Julian Priester - Eric Dolphy What a great sound on the March 17, 1961 and April 4, 1961 recordings done for Candid which eventually ended up in the "out front" album. The compositions are AWSOME, and the front line really plays these rather difficult charts extremely well. Matt

Re: Favorite Front LIne I gotta agree with Wayne and Miles as my favorite, but I really love the sound of Woody Shaw and Joe Henderson...I think their sounds compliment eachother really well

Re: Favorite Front LIne I was just listening to "Doin' the Thing" Live at the Village Gate from the Horace Silver Quintet, and the front line of Blue Mitchell and Junior Cook has got to be one of the tightest around. Those cats are perfect on unison lines and sound great together!
