Re: Whats on your iPod

All of the Followign Bands and Artists have trumpets in them.

From today's good ska : Mad Caddies
Streetlight Manifesto
Catch 22
Voodoo Glow Skulls
Buck-o-nine
The Toasters
Against All Authority
Aqua Bats
Less than jake
Madness
Mustard Plug
Reel Big Fish
Save Ferris
Suburban Legends
Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra

Jazz: Louis Armstrong
Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass
Miles Davis
The New York Ska- Jazz Ensemble

Unclassifyable Genre: Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution (its like ska mixed with orchestral music mixed with classic guitar, all instruments are the unamplified type. This group is self distributed and recommend it to everyone if you want to hear something new because no one's ever done this before its so cool).

I don't have an iPod. But loads of mp3 on my notebook.

mostly ska (roots) stuff, since we're rehearsing ska tunes with my band.

Re: Whats on your iPod

I've been listening to a lot of Avishai Cohen recently -- the bassist, not the trumpet player (although I like him too). His music is so fresh, even if it is a little repetitive. For more traditional stuff, I've been digging Woody Shaw and Roy Haynes. I saw Roy Haynes with Nicholas Payton and Kenny Garrett at Yoshi's last week... such great stuff.

Re: Whats on your iPod

I have a pretty big collection of music >>> a bit over 200GB on the computer with a bunch of CDs that I have not ripped yet. They will be soon thanks to a new 750GB hard drive.

Currently I've been listening to:

Vanguard Jazz Orchestra
Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra
Ahmad Jamal
Alias Smith and Lane
Branford Marsalis
Christian Scott
Freddie Hubbard
Ingrid Jensen
Jaco Pastorious
Joshua Redman
Marcus Roberts trio
McCoy Tyner
Michael Brecker
Miles Davis
Mingus Big Band
Pat Metheny
Rick Parker Collective
Roy Hargrove
Stan Kenton

And some stuff by UNF JE1 and UNT 1 o'clock

That pretty much covers the artists I have been extensively listening to over the past few weeks.
