Re: Contest Entries

I didn't enter this one as I have limited knowledge about what makes a good trumpet - so I have little idea what my perfect horn actually is. I read, listen, play, and discuss all these things with TM members and there are certainly some fine trumpets out there - perfect for each of you, but I can't tell for me - the only related product I have is my mouthpiece - I kinda liked the random chance based last "competition". This one was a little esoteric for me.

Re: Contest Entries

I think the point of this was that the winner would get the horn of his/her dreams. the last contest gave you only one possible prize and, while the NYTC is no doubt a spectacular trumpet, that trumpet was to given with only one way (the way it was built). This contest allows you to have your trumpet built from the ground up and give you exactly what you want.

Besides, it is random. As long as your entry follows the rules, you will be placed in a drawing. The actual writing will be considered for publication but will not affect your chances of winning (This is as I understand it from the rules in the way that seems to make the most sense).

Love your little story Hooploagoo, but, don't ever put your personal information online. I can tell that you're young yet and no one wants you're identity, but when you grow up, please never share personal info with anyone :)

yeah it happens, Just wouldn't want someone to call him all night or worse yet, a sexual predator who now know where he lives and a red trumpet to lure him with.

Here's my entry:
LT180 ML valve block
Sterling 43LR leadpipe
Unbraced rounded main tuning slide
Sterling 72 bell
Martin style water keys
First valve trigger
what does the sterling leadpipe do?

Yeah, I know it contrasts. I wasn't really sure how to word what I want. I know what kind of sound I want in my head but it was a little hard to word it, so I just tried to make it sound good, .

Re: Contest Entries

Were you going for a "powerful" dark sound with lots of core? That's what I wrote in my entry.
