Thanks for the reply. Exactly what you said is why I asked. Right now I get a nice soft round tone in the middle and lower registers and with the right mp, a great sizzle in the upper register. I like it just the way it sounds with the factory finish.
That said, I wouldn't mind a nice plating/fancy finish like we all see with your horns
etc. So, I guess the answer is that I'd like to keep the sound as close as possible to what I described and still give it a sharp new horn look.
