| I've owned a B5, a B1Lb, and an S22. All are fantastic horns. The B1Lb is one of the most responsive horns on the planet. And my S22 has a fat resonant core and is very stable on the hard stuff.
They are all very different, and seem tailored to specific kinds of music...the S22 is probably the better all-around horn, while the B1Lb had the purest, sweetest sound. But it was not ideal in certain settings where a heavier, more secure horn was called for.
All 3 had/have the best fit and finish I've seen on any trumpet anywhere.
I'm with Dave--the new Schilke site is pretty sad, unfortunately. |
