If you are only going to play your flugel once in awhile don't over look the Yamaha student horn. I have owned 3 flugels - Getzen Eterna - Benge 5 - and a Yamaha 231. The Yamaha was the easiest and the most in tune flugel I have owned. My wife and I were going to buy matching flugels this fall for our quintet and praise band. We both played a ton of different horns and she fell in love with the pro-line J. Baptiste at Sam Ash (made by B&S ). I just never found one that I thought was worth the cost over my old trusty Yamaha. Would I have liked a new horn -you bet I would. The student Yamaha plays so much like a trumpet that I have no problem picking it up after a couple of months and playing it on a job. So don't discount any horn until you play it and take a tuner along when checking flugels. We did not find any Jupiter or Blessing that played in tune ( could just be the horns we tried). old geezer Dave
p.s. played a couple of Bachs and their intonation was way out also. The B&S had a beautiful dark sound and was the most in tune. We used our own mouthpieces when trying the horns
