| The soprano seat is the second most nerve-wracking to be sight-reading on. Last time I played with a band I got landed with the principal seat, in concert, no rehearsal - playing a borrowed cornet because I had let a friend borrow mine, not knowing I would need it.
Things I took away from that evening:
NEVER let anyone borrow my cornet.
It is a good thing to know your scales!
Always carry a corkscrew in the car
NEVER let someone else prouce a set of mutes for you
Brass band literature really needs some excitement
I prefer playing trumpet. |
