| Many of the people here have been on the forums for several years. After a while you pretty much have seen it all. So, if you are mature and have seen it all you don't feel the need to put your 2 cents into every thread.
I think also that Manny is a big influence as you said. Also, I think most people here are mature enough that they don't think it is productive to constantly add to or correct someone who posts answers to questions that are 95% correct. To me, if someone answers a question in a couple sentences and supplies 90+ % of all that could be said about it, like Manny often does, then why clutter up the thread with extraneous text?
[I just noticed how low my posts per day number is. I guess I'm walking the walk. :)]
Another factor is the cage. Its quite effective for shutting down trolls.
