Let's discuss the mpc for a minute.

Could one use his standard size trumpet mpc?

If not, could he have his trumpet mpc made to fit the N Trumpet?

Is there a standard of some sort in the N Trumpet sound wherein one has to use a N Trumpet mpc in order to be considered to be playing the N Trumpet?

Do they any particular "standard" differences than the modern Trumpet mpcs?

I guess nobody has info about the mpc; so, let's talk about sound.

I don't understand the differences in the bores/tubing between the modern trumpet and the natural trumpet and how that affects the sound. Can a modern trumpet be made with cylindrical tubes like that of a natural trumpet in order to get that "natural" trumpet sound if it is so valuable?

Another point: If we go back in history to find what the natural trumpets were like we find that these ancient trumpets were made like tubes. It is stated in ancient texts that these trumpets sounded like the brae of an Ass. Some amateur players have this same type of "natural" sound which the pros seemingly took away from the public's ears and memory; so, should we not be getting back to those natural sounds with the natural trumpet? We could call this "new" natural sound/style the............................................... ..HeeHaw.

This was never answered.
There are leadpipes for many nats that allow use of modern mouthpieces, although the historic replicas "need" the longer throat of a mouthpiece made for the nat. Egger and Naumann offer mouthpieces with modern rims and optimised backbore however.

I have had best results with the cookie cutter rim and sharp throat however.

It is called NATURAL because the sounds it is capable to play are the ones which are intended at the harmonic serie.

I am assuming that the "trumpets" mentioned in the Old Testament are ram horns. If this is correct, why are they called shofars now instead of trumpets.......Who made the name change......."That's not a trumpet, THIS is a trumpet. (pulls out a brass three valved horn)

we have to be careful about any translations. In many cases there are no modern words for things that are thousands of years old. As the world becomes smaller due to the information age, we have to find better terms to describe all sorts of things.

You will see that trumpets were made out of metal at least since 1500 BC.

As my aramaic is not very good, we probably have have someone look at the original scrolls to determine if they meant shofar or trumpet (lur, śańkh or the like)

Maybe "TRUMPET" (or Horn) was a generic name for those military high efficience instruments. I guess.
