Very cool that your wife is Brasilian... I'm sure you'll understand when I say I know you have your hands full with our "drama and emotional" side. My wife finds it both a blessing and a curse....
I too am from Rio... came to the states when I was 9. I've been back only twice, 1977 and 1982. In 82 I was in both Rio and teaching trumpet and performing in Brasilia.
I've been very lucky that my family here in the US has kept our culture very much alive since arriving.
