Manny Laureano has a spectacular aura about
Hey,

It's Saturday night after the last concert of this run and man, I'm buzzed! I have to wind down with some Ripple cut potato chips, Onion dip, and a kick butt Aussie wine that I picked up for about 20 bucks. It's a Kaessler 2002 Stonehorse if you care. Damned good red, I must say.

Yeah, guys... Osmo's the real thing, I gots to say. None of this hand in the face during climactic passages when he conducts Beethoven. He lets the anger, frustration, joy, sadness, and tenderness all come out. There's one moment in particular that is the climactic moment in the slow part of the Finale that's like brilliant sunshine bursting through clouds... its a FF octave G's Bob and I play and you should've seen him. He led up to it turned to us dramatically, closed his eyes, and put his hands out like he was being crucified! We let loose with the biggest friggin' G octave that good taste would allow. I'm tellin' ya... if you live in town and you didn't get to the show, you missed it. It was fun.

If you play Beethoven and you get bored doing it, you ain't playin' it right.
