Your note is very humbling, that you drove as you did to hear a little Beethoven. Our bass trombonist and I once did a "buddy trip" to Chicago to catch lessons with Arnold Jacobs, see the Cubs play, and hear the Berlin Philharmonic play Beethoven 7th.
A wonderful mezzo soprano, Jessye Norman was a soloist on the program as well. James Levine was the conductor.
