I was trying to practice today, but I noticed everytime I put the mouthpiece up to my face, my lip starts to hurt. I tried to keep practiceing but I found the more I played, the worse I was sounding, and I was just getting discouraged. After about 15 minuets I give up for today, I walk into the bathroom and notice that my lip is all red and a litle bit bloody. I looked at it closer and I found out that there is a zit or pimple or something on my lip right where the rim of the mouthpiece sits. Now the big problem is that my band camp starts soon, I'll be playing probably 4 to 5 hours a day for the next two weeks, but there is no way I'll be able to last with this thing on my lip.
Do you know of anyway to get this thing to go away faster? I tried putting some ChopSaver on it, but that didn't do anything. I'm afraid to try putting some Carmex or something on it because of bad stories that my brass instructor told us about Carmex and killing your lips...
Theres gotta be something out there that can get rid of this... And hopefully it works in just a couple days. Band Camp is comming and I can't play!
