Anyone heard Steve Sykes?......formerly of Carlton Main Colliery and Grimethorpe bands and now a 'clinician' with Besson. He can play 'Czardas',..or 'Charred arse' as its called in brass band circles here, in about 7 octaves!!!
Steve is also a brilliant band trainer,...I took some of my students to one of his workshops and you should have seen their faces when he announced that the hymn we played would be played again but "backwards and up one and a half tones"!!!.....We did it too! |
