I was recently asked to submit a bio for a Brass Band I perform with here in Phoenix and thought it might be kinda fun to create a place TM members could post their own BIO's... of course, only for those that are not "undercover". It may be a great opportunity to find we have more in common than just participation in this forum. I hope you'll join me.
Like a good sport... here is mine:
Rogerio Araujo is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His family immigrated to the Washington DC area in 1967 when he was 9 years of age. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Trumpet Performance from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. His teachers include Col. Gilbert Mitchell (ret), Herbert C. Mueller, Adel Sanchez and David Flowers. In 1982, he received a grant from The Partners of the Americas to teach trumpet at the Brasilia Conservatory of Music. Upon his return in 1986 he proudly became a U.S. citizen. Rogerio has been a featured soloist with numerous orchestra’s including a performance as a finalist for the National Symphony Orchestras Young Soloist Competition (Kennedy Center). He holds memberships with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and The International Trumpet Guild. He has been a resident of Phoenix since 1994.
I DON'T REALLY WANT TO BE A POLICEMAN TO THIS TOPIC... but what do you folks think about leaving this as a BIO entry only... (no conversation - other than PM's of course). This way it will serve as good, quick reference. ?? Everyone okay with that?
