Yes, I was at Interlochen that summer. I had the opportunity to sit next to him in the orchestra all summer. That was a learning experience. He taught me a good bit about music, and the trumpet. You can get all the info at his website about competitions he has won. There are so many, I can't remember it all.... But, he did tie for second in the Maurice Andre competition. There was no first prize awarded that year.
