romey1 is an unknown quantity at this point
Yeah, it does seem rather daunting from a listening perspective. Maybe I'll check out the music. Here's the rest of his program from Friday night.

1. Honegger Intrada
2. Enesco Legende
3. Hindemith Sonata

Intermission

4. Berio Sequenza X
5. Ravel 2 Selections from Miroirs for Solo Piano (chop break!)
6. Ligeti Mysteries of the Macabre

Encore: Goedicke Concert Etude (at light speed)!!!!

I got to speak to him briefly at a masterclass he gave at Northwestern the next morning, and he commented on how his chops felt like $hit the whole night. I never would have known..................

The masterclass really showed what an exceptional teacher he is. Hakan was able to pinpoint what each student was missing in their "package" and helped steer them in the right direction trumpet playing-wise AND MOST importantly MUSICALLY!
